Medicare Rebates

It may be possible to access Clinical Psychology services under Medicare with referral letter and GP Mental Health Care Plan (MHCP – Medicare Item 2710) from your treating General Practitioner. Through Medicare each individual can access up to ten sessions per calendar year on the Better Access scheme. Medicare offers rebates of $131.65 per 50 – 60 minute session with a clinical psychologist. Please bring your GP MHCP referral and Medicare health card with you to your session.

The standard rate for Clinical Psychology service is $210.00 per hour. If you are eligible for the Medicare rebate with a MHCP and referral, a gap payment of $78.35 will be required.
Other fully funded services may be accessible for those unable to afford to pay gap payment. Please discuss this with your psychologist.
If you book for a Clinical Psychology service without the MHCP and referral letter then you will be charged private rates/the full fee for this service.

Health fund rebates

Health fund rebates are dependent on insurance cover. It is recommended that you check with your fund to see if you are covered. Health fund rebates cannot be claimed in association with Medicare rebates.

Victims of Crime

Victims of Crime may access counselling assistance through the NSW Attorney General’s Department. Victims’ of Crime Counselling is fully funded by NSW Attorney General’s Department for those deemed eligible by Victims Services following application.

WORKPLACE INJURY

For those with accepted work-related injuries clinical psychology services are available under NSW Workcover with referral from your GP or insurer approval and are fully funded through insurance companies. No extra fee is charged to clients with accepted work-related injuries.

TELE HEALTH

Telehealth is available and allows the delivery of psychological therapy via the Internet. You can talk to a psychologist from the comfort of your own home or office. Telehealth can be as effective as face-to-face therapy. The same confidentiality principles apply to online therapy as compared with in person therapy with regards to sharing and storage of information.

Electronic payment

Electronic payment and online claiming through Medicare is available. We also accept payment by cash.

Cancellation Policy

Our Cancellation Policy is that clients are required to advise us at minimum 48 hours prior to their booking in case of cancellation. Please leave a message via telephone (0403894014) or email (jacki_elphinstone@yahoo.com.au). Otherwise the full fee for service may be charged. Please remember that Medicare and NSW Workcover do not pay for cancellations.
